KSM inc. is a company whose targeting to become a new low-cost producer of SOP and SOPM fertilizers. The company intent to build a 55,000 tons per year plant of potassium sulphate (SOP), potassium and magnesium sulphate (SOPM) and Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) as a by-product. The company has developed a patented and innovative process for the production of fertilizers from potassium chloride, sulfuric acid and magnesium compounds extracted from abundant mine tailings. This new process is leading to lower Capex and Opex compared to the conventional process, the Mannheim process. The process conditions using much lower temperature are leading to reduced energy consumption and corrosion issues which in return are leading to reduced operating costs, maintenance costs, construction costs and lower greenhouses gases emissions.
